STUDIES ON THE POSSIBLE ROLE OF PLANT HOST ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ROOT-KNOT NEMATODE, MELOIDOGYNE JAVANICA AND PASTEURIA PENETRANS AS AFFECTED BY DIFFERENT HARVESTING DATES

There were strong interactions between plant-hosts and Pasteuria (P0.01) on numbers of eggmasses, root galling eggs/eggmass produced by females Meloidogyne javanica after 422, 595 767 degree days first, second third harvests. The presence absence the biocontrol agent (Pasteuria penetrans) in treatments influenced these parameters it was also plant hosts. After first harvest, there significant differences above-mentioned P. penetrans control (P0.01). lesser (3.13) where applied compared with untreated (5.53). Plant hosts differed significantly interaction plant-host non-significant (P0.05). parameters. Plant-hosts eggmasses no (P0.05) regarding galling. production (P0.01), galling, number fewer (379) (5.1) applied. However, Contrarily, a greater eggs observed among developed tomato (385) (629) Pasteuria. rate parasitism M. very low infection 422-degree as neither vegetative stages nor mature endospores females. 595-degree days, few having bacterium. only though 767-degree reared okra infected than those eggplant.
